the perfect office For each startup

Depending on your team size, we search for you the ideal office. Our office spaces range from 10 to 300 square meters. Whether for 2 or 50 people – you’ll find the right office starting from just 28€ per sqm all inclusive (net per month).

After a successful match, we categorize your startup into one of three development phases: pre-incubation, incubation and scaleup. Depending on your classification, the duration of office usage ranges from one to five years.

An early-stage team initially receives a 12-month contract of use. Throughout this period, we conduct regular evaluation meetings. Depending on your startup’s performance, you may progress to the incubator and your contract will be extended by an additional 12 to 24 months. Advanced teams receive additional 24 months in our larger scaleup offices.

how to apply for a startup office at WERK1

Fill in the application form

First, please complete the application form. Thereafter, we evaluate each startup through a three-step process considering factors such as the business model, industry focus, market attractiveness, team setting, financing and more.

Personal interview

The stage is yours! During a 5-minute personal interview, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase what your startup is capable of. We’ll introduce ourselves and ask you a few questions about your application documents and pitch. Afterwards, we’ll give you a tour of our WERK1 premises and offices.

Welcome to WERK1

On the onboarding day, you’ll receive your keys that give you 24/7 access to your office. We’ll also familiarize you with how things work at WERK1: Where to find your mailbox, how to book meeting rooms and where to get the best coffee. Throughout the onboarding process, you’ll learn everything you need for an optimal start in our WERK1 community.

FAQ STARTUps & scaleups

How are the startup offices equipped?

We rent our offices unfurnished, so you can arrange them according to your preferences. You just have to follow our house rules. It is only important that you return the office to its original state when you move out.

How big are the offices?

The office areas range from 10 to 300 square meters. After a successful matching, we will look individually for a suitable office.

Can I book additional meeting rooms?

You can book meeting rooms in the member portal at a reasonable price. WERK1 residents also receive an exclusive 50% discount. By the way, you can always use our phone rooms free of charge.

Can I use the WERK1 common rooms?

The common rooms are accessible to all WERK1 residents at all times.

What is De-minimis actually about?

De-minimis is about subsidies. It is important to observe the maximum amount of 300,000€ within the current three year period. You can find further information here.

Do you also rent out larger scaleup offices?

Yes, we also have scaleup offices with space between 170 and 280 square meters. These are equipped with their own kitchen and sanitary facilities. Each scaleup office also has a meeting room.

Can I furnish my office however I like?

You can furnish your office according to your own preferences. All you have to do is follow our house rules. It is also important that you return your office to its original state when you move out.

How long can I use the offices?

Depending on the phase and evaluation of your startup, the maximum term for using the offices is between 1 and 5 years.
