FAQ GWG process
Which ID cards are required?
We require the IDs of all persons listed in the commercial register or the transparency register (i.e. managing directors, authorized signatories, shareholders, etc.).
Can a passport also be used?
Yes, a passport can also be uploaded if all relevant fields are clearly legible (see How To Guide).
Where can I apply for the transparency register?
You can create an account for your startup on the Transparency Register website and use it to make an entry. After a processing time of several weeks in some cases, you can then download your final transparency register extract from your profile.
Where can I get the extract from the commercial register?
In Germany, you can apply for and view your commercial register extract either directly online via the official register portal of the federal states or at the relevant local court.
Are there different types of commercial register extracts?
Yes, there are. A distinction is made between a current and a chronological extract from the commercial register. Both documents can be used for the application process – you can find more information on this in the How To Guide.
